[Event] The Second International Bernard P. Zeigler DEVS Modeling and Simulation Award

The Second International Bernard P. Zeigler DEVS Modeling and Simulation Award (DEVS Award) event will be held in Boston, Massachusetts on April 5th, 2011. Awards will be presented in a ceremony at the 2011 Spring Simulation Multiconference.




In Track I: DEVS Theory and Methodology


The following two researchers teams will be awarded a plaque and prize money ($10,000 check) each.




Mamadou Kaba Traore, Ph.D. at Blaise Pascal University of Clermont-Ferrand, France and Ufuoma Bright lghoroje at African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, Nigeria for their work on DEVS modeling language and graphical editor.




Alexandre Muzy, Ph.D. at CNRS, France for his work on Activity-based modeling and simulation for automated tracking and synthesis of components.




In Track II: Commercial DEVS Application


There is no award for this year.




Competition details for the next Third Annual DEVS Award will be announced in September, 2011.


In recognition of the 41st anniversary of the DEVS M&S framework which was invented by Prof. Bernard P. Zeigler, this DEVS M&S Award is sponsored by RTSync Corp. The award recognizes high-impact innovations in modeling and simulation methods, applications, and tools. The Award promotes advances in all facets of the DEVS that lead to novel solutions for commercial and governmental use.
